Tom GledhillTom Gledhill, partner with XITpro System, holds a BSEE and an MBA. Tom originally started a software company that focused on the medical community, and then sold the business to a larger firm allowing him to become a Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) consultant. Tom soon noticed that of small businesses that were available for sale, over 80% did not sell; instead they were liquidated. That was a loss to the owner, employees and the community.

That discovery led Tom to write two best-selling books defining the steps that owners need to take to position their companies for sale. But that didn’t get Tom clients. Coupled with the “silver tsunami", a metaphor for the many baby boomers coming of age and looking to sell their businesses, and the lack of buyers, the problem has been exacerbated.  

In 2018, Tom needed help and contacted a senior business advisor with the Massachusetts Small Business Development Center. The advisor worked with Tom to develop a marketing plan for an online training course. Tom has recently added an AI certification whereby he is able to bring the latest technology to bear with small business owners, helping them to properly position their companies for sale.

Tom continues to work with the Massachusetts SBDC as he grows his consulting business. Together Tom and the MSBDC advisor have updated Tom's podcast, Facebook page, and LinkedIn promos. In addition, the team worked on an article to be published in Entrepreneur Magazine, revised a PowerPoint Presentation, and a lead generation letter.
