The
Southeast Regional Office is a advising center of the Massachusetts Small Business Development Center
(MSBDC) Network and it is part of the University of Massachusetts Amherst, in
collaboration with the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth. Utilizing the resources
of the University of Massachusetts system makes the SBDC an excellent source of reference for
the region's business community.
The MSBDC's Southeast Regional Office was created in 1982 to pool resources of federal, state and local government, academic institutions, and the private sector to provide small
businesses with management and educational programs. The office serves all of southeastern Massachusetts including Cape Cod and
the Islands.
Our mission is accomplished through the SBDC's staff which includes two
business advisors -- Melinda Ailes [bio],
Clifford Robbins [bio] -- both of whom have a broad range of business knowledge. In addition, each counselor specializes in certain areas of expertise such as: business and financial plan development, marketing and sales counseling, financial analysis
and business
retention. We also offer training
seminars and assistance to companies seeking unconventional financing sources.
Our office manager and client services coordinator is
Tammi Jacobsen [bio].
Additionally our office works closely with Procurement Technical Assistance
Center and government procurement
specialist Daniel Lilly [bio] and the
Massachusetts Export Center regional office located in New Bedford.
